gcc vs turboc
The war started between me & Ria. It was my worst fear and it came true today. We just started arguing over gcc & turboc. She was telling that turboc is better 'coz in the college turboc is the only choice. She fixed her mind on this.
The fight was like this..
Q: Why turboc is good?
A: Both clrscr() & getch() functions are there :)
Q: Why gcc is bad?
A: 'Coz other students in the college are not using it.
When she said "Windows is better than Linux", I just hung up. I don't know when I am going to call her back. :(
Still it is the choice, the choice of freedom.

Having the luxury to hang up on a woman over the choice of operating systems makes you the envy of most programmers for sure ;)
one point for gcc:
* memory protection and core dumps
Tell her to try not pressing F2 all the time to save her source code under TC and try making a memory management mistake.

Now your in trouble with your girl over this, hahaha. You beter make her happy right now or you'll end up on the waiting list. Just compromise and things will settle down.

as per yr information
gcc is far better than tc.the reasons are below.......
1. kernel design is not possible in tc.
2.tc is a 16bit compiler while gcc is 32bit
3.tc is msdos based compiler while gcc is linux.
4.tc takes 1mb memory while gcc takes 4gb memory space.so it is possible work on high quality graphics program
that is u r unable to implement 3d texture and many more....
ok forget about that....
first ask yr gf that, can she compile more than one source file simultaneously in tc.
if no, then you win.
bcoz in gcc u can compile more than one file at a time....
more ever Linus Torvalds compile nearly 14800 source file at a time to generate the linux kernel....

Its really awesome compiler. Though it still in a phase where people are getting to know it, but its kinda good learning experience! Also as someone said its a huge installation(>3GB) so you can assume it to be having many more qualities we lacked in TC!
